No Bond Set For Mother Of Teen Who Was Beaten To Death

13-year-old Isaiah Gaymes died at MUSC on May 11 after being beaten with a piece of wood and a handgun on May 8.

The mother of an Horry County teenager who was beaten to death earlier this month, was denied bond during a court hearing Tuesday.

13-year-old Isaiah Gaymes died at MUSC on May 11 after being beaten with a piece of wood and a handgun on May 8.

The teen’s mom, Samantha Gaymes, was initially charged with unlawfully placing a child at risk of harm. She has since been charged with inflicting or allowing infliction of great bodily injury upon a child.

Ivy Jenerette was also charged in Isaiah’s case. His initial charge was abuse inflicting great bodily injury upon a child. That has since been upgraded to a murder charge.

Both remain in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
