Testimony Continues In Donald Trump’s Hush Money Trial
Jurors then heard from Robert Costello, a lawyer whose testimony prompted Judge Merchan to clear the courtroom in anger.
Donald Trump’s criminal hush money trial is still underway in New York.
On Monday, Michael Cohen participated in his fourth day of testimony. Trump’s former attorney admitted he conned the former president and his company out of money while also maintaining Trump signed off the hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels.
Cohen’s turn on the stand wrapped up as Trump’s defense team started calling their own witnesses.
Jurors then heard from Robert Costello, a lawyer whose testimony prompted Judge Merchan to clear the courtroom in anger.
Merchan scolded the witness for interjecting and rolling his eyes as well as staring him down. The judge warned Costello of consequences if the alleged actions continued. He was the second defense witness called and wrapped up his testimony Tuesday, after which, the defense rested their case.
Closing arguments are expected to take place next Tuesday.
