Horry County Schools Appoint New Interim Superintendent

Since retiring Ingram has served as an interim superintendent at school districts in North Carolina and Massachusetts.

Horry County Schools has announced the new interim superintendent.

During a meeting held Wednesday, the school board discussed options for the position for nearly three hours.

After the lengthy debate, the board announced they would be appointing Dr. Eddie Ingram as the temporary superintendent while they search for a permanent successor to Dr. Rick Maxey.

Ingram retired from the Berkeley County School District in 2021 after serving as superintendent since 2017. Before that, he served as the superintendent at Darlington County Schools for four years.

Since retiring Ingram has served as an interim superintendent at school districts in North Carolina and Massachusetts. He has his doctorate in education and has been in the education field for over four decades.

Ingram will take on the interim role starting July 1.
