Crash In Horry Co. Resulted In One Death And Left Four Others Injured

The driver of a 2014 Kia Sorento was heading north on the highway when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road and overturned into a water-filled ditch.

A crash in Horry County left one person dead and four others injured.

The accident occurred around noon Monday along Highway 9 near the Waccamaw River in the Longs area.

37-year-old Charleston Morris was one of the passengers. He was unrestrained and ejected from the vehicle. The victim died of multiple traumatic injuries at the scene.

The other four people involved were hospitalized, their conditions are unknown at this time.

One lane of Loris-bound traffic was blocked by the single-vehicle crash.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
