The agency has been made aware of a scammer or scammers who are impersonating members of the department’s staff.

The calls have been made to community members and demand payment in relation to “urgent legal matters.”

The scammers are using the names of real officers to make it seem more believable.

Authorities say anybody who has receives one of these calls should hang up and report the incident.
