Sixth And Final Missing Person From Baltimore Bridge Collapse Recovered
Two of the victims were rescued that day and survived while the other six were presumed dead. Now, all six have officially been recovered from the wreckage, none of which were found alive.
The body of the sixth and final construction worker from the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse has been recovered from the Patapsco River.
In the early hours of March 26, a cargo ship struck a pillar of the bridge causing the collapse. During that time, eight construction workers were working to fill potholes on the structure.
Two of the victims were rescued that day and survived while the other six were presumed dead.
Throughout the following weeks, officials have been conducting search missions to locate the missing men.
Now, all six have officially been recovered from the wreckage, none of which were found alive.
Cleanup efforts are still underway. However, the Army Corps of Engineers expects the port of Baltimore’s permanent 700-foot-wide, 50-foot-deep channel will reopen by the end of this month.
