S.C. Gov. McMaster To Sign Bill Regarding Tax On Feminine Hygiene Products

The measure made it through the state Senate unanimously on Tuesday after easily passing in the House last spring.

Gov. McMaster plans to sign a bill regarding the tax on feminine hygiene products in South Carolina.

The bill will exempt feminine hygiene products from the state’s sales tax.

The measure made it through the state Senate unanimously on Tuesday after easily passing in the House last spring.

Removing menstrual care products from the state’s 6% tax would cut statewide collections by $7.3 million.

Once McMaster signs the bill, S.C. will become the 22nd state to eliminate surcharges on these products.
