Eating a bit of an avocado a day…may help keep type 2 diabetes away for women. Researchers discovered that women who ate a small amount of avocado a day have a lower risk for type two diabetes. They credit the contents of an avocado to helping to control blood glucose and improve insulin sensitivity. But, that decreased diabetes risk wasn’t found in men who consumed avocados daily. The team believes the difference could be linked to more of the male participants being smokers…since smoking is associated with higher chances of developing the disease.
