Protests continue to break out at colleges across the nation amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.

Tuesday night, police arrived on campus at the UCLA after a violent confrontation broke out between pro-Palestinian protesters and Israel supporters.

The dispute prompted objects being thrown and physical violence. Tasers and pepper spray were used as well.

Protestors were pushing into barricades when fireworks went off and tear gas was deployed.

UCLA cancelled classes for Wednesday due to the violent protests Tuesday.

Hours earlier, over 200 protesters were arrested at Columbia University and City College of New York.

At Columbia, officers cleared demonstrators from encampments and an occupied building.

Columbia has asked police to stay on campus until May 17.

Since April 18, over 1,000 people have been arrested on over 25 campuses across at least 21 states.
