Visit Myrtle Beach To Release New Children’s Book

City officials have created a new children's book titled 'Splish, Splash, Squawk! Finding Joy in a Sensory Friendly Vacation.'

Visit Myrtle Beach has been working to make the area a sensory-friendly destination for visitors with autism.

City officials have created a new children’s book titled ‘Splish, Splash, Squawk! Finding Joy in a Sensory Friendly Vacation.’

The book was created in collaboration with author and illustrator Lynda Wilson, who often travels to Myrtle Beach with her son who has autism.

It’s designed to inspire families with children on the spectrum to explore traveling together.

A list of retailers and events will be released in the coming weeks that will carry the book.

In addition, Visit Myrtle Beach is also looking to land a distributor for a TV series that follows three families with members on the spectrum who have never traveled, as they take a vacation in Myrtle Beach. The series is called ‘Traveling the Spectrum.’
