HCS Board Hosts Meeting After Sixth Threat Made Against Carolina Forest High

The district plans to hold a budget hearing to look into putting more funds into school safety and security.

Another bomb threat was made against Carolina Forest High School Monday.

This marks the sixth bomb threat the school has received since Wednesday. Each time officers searched the school and gave the campus the “all clear.” The other five threats were also found to be a hoax but each are being investigated separately.

The Horry County School Board met Monday night and discussed the importance of attempting to maintain normal operations for students as they near the end of the school year.

It was said, they’re aware this is a stressful time for both students and parents. They added school safety will always be a top priority for the school board.

Additional police presence has been on campus since the first threat.

In addition, the board also officially announced Superintendent Dr. Rick Maxey’s last day will be June 30 and a national search is being conducted for his successor.
