Israel Carried Out A Strike In Iran After Direct Military Assault

The U.S. was reportedly given advance notification of an intended Israeli strike, but did not endorse the response.

Israel carried out a military strike in Iran Friday.

Iran’s air defense systems were activated in the cities of Isfahan and Tabriz after three explosions went off near a major military airbase. The explosions were reportedly related to anti-aircraft systems shooting at a “suspicious object.”

Iranian officials said air defences intercepted three drones and there were no reports of a missile attack. The raid appeared to be limited in scope. In addition, sites associated with Iran’s nuclear program were secure.

The U.S. was reportedly given advance notification of an intended Israeli strike, but did not endorse the response. President Biden has made it clear to that the U.S. would not participate in any offensive operations against Iran.
