Trump’s Hush Money Trial Is Officially Underway

Out of 96 potential New Yorkers, 50 were immediately dismissed.

The opening day of the first criminal trial of a former U.S. president was held Monday.

The second day started Tuesday morning and Trump delivered remarks.

In this case Trump is facing 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in connection to covering up hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels. The money was allegedly used to keep her quiet amid the 2016 presidential election, regarding a sexual encounter the two had.

Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Monday, he sat alongside his three attorneys as jury selection began. Out of 96 potential New Yorkers, 50 were immediately dismissed. Those dismissed said they could not be fair and impartial.

Jury selection will continue until 12 are ultimately chosen.
