One Arrested In Connection To A Fatal Crash

The crash occurred around 2am Thursday morning on Union Chapel Road near Pembroke in Robeson County.

One person was killed and another charged in a fatal two-vehicle crash.

The crash occurred around 2am Thursday morning on Union Chapel Road near Pembroke in Robeson County.

A pick-up truck failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a car.

The truck then ran off the road to the right, overturned and came to a stop in a nearby yard.

The driver of the car that was struck was pronounced dead and was identified as 32-year-old Cierra Rochelle.

The driver of the pick-up, James Cummings, was restrained.

Impairment is suspected and speed is a factor as well.

Cummings refused medical treatment and was arrested. He’s charged with felony death by motor vehicle, driving while impaired and several other charges.

Cummings is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center.
