North Myrtle Beach is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Shag being named South Carolina’s official state dance.
The city is known as the birthplace of the “Shag.”

The Band of Oz will be performing live on April 18.
On that day, the city also plans to unveil a shag trail, inviting everyone in the community to step into the rhythm of history all year long.
