Judge Expands Trump Gag Order In Hush Money Case
Judge approved the ruling to further extends Trump's gag order to include family members of the court and family members of the Manhattan District Attorney.
The judge overseeing Donald Trump’s hush money trial expanded a gag order that was imposed last week.
In recent days, Trump has made remarks against Judge Juan Merchan’s daughter.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s office asked Merchan Monday to expand the gag order to stop the former president from further attacking family members of people involved in the case.
Merchan issued a warning that Trump’s rhetoric threatens to instill fear in those who may be a part of the proceedings and their loved ones. He said, “Such concerns will undoubtedly interfere with the fair administration of justice and constitutes a direct attack on the rule of law itself.”
That being said, Merchan approved the ruling to further extend Trump’s gag order to include family members of the court and family members of the Manhattan District Attorney.
