Florida Gov. DeSantis Signs Bill Into Law Regarding Minors On Social Media
Several states across the nation have established similar laws but this marks one of the country's most restrictive social media bans for minors.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law Monday regarding minors on social media.
The legislation will ban social media accounts for children under 14 and require parental permission for 14 and 15-year-olds.
It stands as a more relaxed version of a bill the Florida governor vetoed earlier this month that would have banned minors under 16 regardless of parental consent.
The law is set to take effect on January 1.
