DoorDash Testing Out Drone Delivery Pilot Program

DoorDash and drone company “Wing” are offering a new delivery option for Wendy’s customers.

DoorDash is testing the program from just one Wendy’s location in Christainsburg, Virginia.

The food will be delivered by autonomous drones within 30 minutes from the time of order.

The drone will climb to nearly 150 feet above ground.

When it reaches its destination, it will descend to a height of 23 feet. Then it will gently lower the package to the ground from a tether.

This is not the first time the new delivery option is being used in the U.S., but it is DoorDash’s first time testing out the program.
