Frenchies Top the List of Most Popular Dog Breed by American Kennel Club
The AKC Association has the world’s largest registry of purebred dogs.
The French Bulldog is top dog when it comes to purebreds. Frenchies remain the most popular U.S. breed in 2023 according to the annual American Kennel Club rankings. They secured the number one spot for a 2nd year straight with nearly 98,500 canines registering with the club. The labrador retriever held the number one spot for over three decades until 2021. Now it is ranked number 2 followed by the golden retriever, german shepherd and poodle. The AKC Association has the world’s largest registry of purebred dogs.
