Former Boeing Whistleblower Found Dead
The county coroner said he died on Saturday from “what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
A former Boeing employee who raised serious concerns about the company’s production standards was found dead over the weekend.
62-year-old John Barnett’s body was found in a truck that was parked in a Holiday Inn parking lot in Charleston, S.C..
The county coroner said he died on Saturday from “what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
The city’s police department says detectives are investigating the case and “awaiting the formal cause of death, along with any additional findings that might shed further light on the circumstances surrounding the death.”
The former Boeing employee was in the midst of a deposition in his whistleblower retaliation case. He was in Charleston for legal interviews and was scheduled for additional questioning the day of his passing.
Barnett was found dead after failing to appear.
