HCS Reveals New Safety System Program

The new safety feature comes after HCS district leaders announced plans to upgrade metal detectors and hire more security personnel at each facility.

Horry County Schools has revealed a new safety system program.

Starting Monday, a new icon will appear on all students’ school-based computers and tablets. Once clicked on, it automatically loads a page where safety issues can be reported.

Students will have multiple options to report information, which include, an email address that will send a message to the appropriate staff member and an “if you see something, say something” form that when completed, will also be sent to the appropriate staff member who will notify the school administration.

There will also be ways to directly connect with law enforcement.
