The legislation package also eliminates parole for nearly all people convicted of crimes. It lowers the age to be tried as an adult for all crimes to 17 as well.
The bill’s passage comes just over a month after Alabama conducted an execution using nitrogen gas for the first time in the U.S..
Louisiana is now the 4th state to sign the new method of execution into law.
