The boost in flights marks another step in restoring aviation services that had been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and an air travel dispute between the two countries.

This is the fifth increase post the COVID reopening.

Even with the increase, it’s only a fraction of the over 150 weekly round trips allowed by each side before restrictions were imposed during the pandemic. However, both countries said they will continue working toward normalization of the U.S.-China market.
