A parade celebrating Black History Month is set to be held in Florence.

The parade is expected to not only recognize those who have paved the way for African Americans but will serve as a history lesson for the younger generation.

The town has not hosted a black history parade in nearly a decade and this one is set to honor those who’ve made a difference in the community.

Festivities will take place on Saturday at 11am on West Evans Street at the Florence Center.
