Marion County Man Arrested After Hours Long Standoff

The suspect now faces two counts of attempted murder, one count of discharging a weapon into a vehicle and more.

A Marion County man was arrested after an hours-long standoff.

42-year-old Jeffrey Shelley allegedly shot at two people occupying a vehicle on Monday night. No one was injured, but police attempted to arrest him when he barricaded himself in a home on Highway 9 in the Gresham Community.

The incident started around 8pm Monday and wasn’t resolved until nearly 11am Tuesday.

During the lengthy standoff, Shelley allegedly threatened to “shoot any and all law enforcement that responded.”

Details are limited but Shelley was eventually detained. He now faces two counts of attempted murder, one count of discharging a weapon into a vehicle and one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
