Biden Meets With Advisers To Determine Response To Fatal Drone Attack
President Biden said the U.S.' response will likely be more powerful than previous American retaliatory strikes in Iraq and Syria.
President Biden met with security advisers Monday to determine how to respond to the drone attack in Jordan that killed and wounded U.S. troops on Sunday.
The U.S. does not reportedly want to escalate tensions in the Middle East amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. However, President Biden said the U.S.’ response will likely be more powerful than previous American retaliatory strikes in Iraq and Syria as this is the first attack in the recent feud that resulted in casualties of U.S. service members.
The president said this morning he has made a decision on how to respond but left it at that.
Iran has denied involvement in the Jordan attack, claiming it does not issue direct orders to militia groups. The U.S. says Iran is known for its involvement in attacks from its proxies.
In addition, it was said U.S. forces may have mistaken an enemy drone for an American one that was in route to return and let it pass unchallenged into the desert base where it killed the three U.S. troops and left over 40 others injured.
