Drone Strike In Jordan Kills Three Troops And Left Many Others Injured
President Biden warned the U.S. will respond and "hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner of our choosing."
Three U.S. troops were killed and over 30 others were injured in an overnight drone attack in the Middle East.
The large drone struck a logistics support base in Jordan known as Tower 22. It is located along the Syrian border and is used by troops involved in the advise-and-assist mission for Jordanian forces.
The drone reportedly hit near the troops’ sleeping quarters, which explains the high injury count.
The deployed troops are there to “work for the lasting defeat of isis.” The three who died and most of the wounded were Army soldiers.
U.S. officials are working to identify the group responsible, but they have assessed that one of several Iranian-backed groups was behind it.
