Woman Arrested After Bringing A Gun Into A Middle School In Marion Co.
Police reported that she did not work at the school and it is unclear what she was doing there.
Marion police arrested a woman after she brought a gun onto a middle school campus.
36-year-old Rehannon Swinney allegedly entered Johnakin Middle School around 11am Thursday with a visible pistol in her pants pocket. She was approached by a student resource officer in regards to the weapon when she ran outside.
Swinney threw the gun somewhere near Gurley Street before re-entering the school.
Police reported that she did not work at the school and it is unclear what she was doing there.
No one was injured and the school returned to normal operations.
Swinney is charged with possession of a firearm on school property, unlawful carry of a pistol and disturbing schools. She is being held at the Marion County Detention Center on an $11,000 bond.
