New Details Emerge In Regards To Shooting Near CCU’s Campus
20-year-old Savion Pinkney admitted he fired the shots. He was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm and carrying a firearm on school property.
We now have additional information in regards to a shooting incident near Coastal Carolina University’s campus.
Just after 3:30am on Monday, Coastal police responded to The Cove apartment complex off of Highway 544 on reports of shots fired.
The apartments are an off-campus student housing complex that is leased and operated by the university.
Just after 5am, university officials alerted students of the incident advising people to avoid the area. Just before 7:30am, the scene was cleared, no one was injured and police found no threat to the community or school.
20-year-old Savion Pinkney admitted he fired the shots. He was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm and carrying a firearm on school property. The gunman was found in possession of a polymer 80 9mm handgun.
Pinckney is not a CCU student and has now been released from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on an over $7,000 bond.
