HCFR To Host First Of Its Kind Program In South Carolina

Horry County Fire Rescue is set to host a first of its kind program in S.C..
HCFR was given the greenlight to proceed with a year-long pilot program to potentially increase the scope of practice of Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians in S.C..
The program will measure and analyze the data collected by HCFR’s 52 current AEMTs to determine if they can broaden the allowed prehospital medical care an AEMT can provide.
There will be a 40-hour course and other trainings in this program that is set to start on April 1, 2024 and run through March 31, 2025.
