Winter Storms Across The U.S. Resulted In At Least 40 Deaths

The highest number of deaths so far was recorded in Tennessee where 14 people were killed across due to the severe weather.

A series of winter storms and an outbreak of cold air has resulted in several deaths.

At least 40 people have died across nine states since last Friday. Storm related deaths have been confirmed in Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

The highest number of deaths so far was recorded in Tennessee where 14 people were killed across due to the severe weather.

Over 85,000 homes and businesses were without power in Oregon alone as of yesterday.

Many areas are under snow warnings and residents have been snowed in. Additional accumulating snow is likely from the Midwest to the East Friday.

Snow could once again blanket Washington, DC, and New York City soon after their nearly two-year wait for an inch of snow ended early this week.
