Two NFL Head Coaches Made Surprising Announcements

There are now eight total vacancies in the head coach position for NFL teams.

Two NFL head coaches made surprising announcements.

Pete Carroll is out as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. In his final season with the team, Carroll reportedly had disagreements over the handling of the offense, among other things. He has a 137-89-1 record and is the winningest head coach in Seahawks history. In his 15 years as head coach, the team made nine overall trips to the playoffs winning one Super Bowl with their biggest Super Bowl loss to New England Patriots in 2014. Carroll will now be an advisor to the team.

Bill Belichick is leaving the Patriots after 24 seasons, ending an unmatched run in NFL history that included six Super Bowl titles. His decision reportedly stemmed from him deciding to “take the high road.”
