Experts Say Children Should Avoid Screen Time Until Age 2
Each hour of daily screen time could increase the chance of sensory issues for babies, until two years old.
Parents might want to avoid putting their young children in front of a screen…until a certain age. A new study shows that children who use screens before three years old could experience developmental delays. Researchers at Drexel University looked at screen habit data from nearly 15-hundred children younger than two. They found one-year-olds who spent time in front of screens have a 105-percent higher chance of developing sensory processing issues by the time they are 33 months. The study findings add to a list of concerns linked to toddler screen time, which include sleep problems, autism, and difficulties paying attention. According to the research posted in Jama Pediatrics…each hour of daily screen time could increase the chance of sensory issues for babies, until two years old.
