On Friday, an Alaska Airlines flight traveling from Portland, Oregon, to Ontario, California, was forced to make an emergency landing after a portion of the aircraft blew out mid-air.

Flight 1282 reached nearly 16,000 feet minutes after take off when an unused exit door blew off. The plug covering the door has since been found which is a key component in determining why the accident occurred.

As of Monday, Alaska Airlines and United Airlines cancelled a combined 342 flights as the FAA ordered groundings of Boeing 737 Max 9 Aircrafts for inspection.
