President Of Harvard University Resigns Amid Investigations

Harvard is one of many schools that are under investigation in connection to the Department of Educations' probe into allegations of Islamophobia and Anti-Semitic discrimination on campus.

The president of Harvard University announced her resignation on Tuesday.

According to her resignation letter, Claudine Gay said it is in the “best interest of Harvard” to step down and place the focus back on the university itself rather than any individual during what she referred to as a “moment of extraordinary challenge.”

Harvard is one of many schools that are under investigation in connection to the Department of Educations’ probe into allegations of Islamophobia and Anti-Semitic discrimination on campus.

The allegations come as Israel and Hamas have been at war since October 7th.

Gay, was the university’s first African American president and only the second woman to hold the position. Her six-month tenure is the shortest amount of time served by a president in the school’s history.
