Colorado Republicans Appeal Trump Ballot Ban

he former President has not yet filed his appeal, but it's expected soon.

The Colorado Republican party has asked the U.S. Supreme court to overturn the state Supreme Court ruling that removed Donald Trump from the 2024 ballot. The state’s GOP was also a party in the case and is fighting to keep its right to include Trump on its March primary ballot. The former President has not yet filed his appeal, but it’s expected soon. The judge who presided over the trial granted the state republican party’s request to intervene in the case shortly after the lawsuit was filed. In yesterday’s filing, the party asked the U.S. Supreme Court to take up the case and restore Trump’s name on the Colorado primary ballot. The appeal means the state court’s pause on the ruling, which is set to expire January 4th, will now be indefinitely extended until the U.S. Supreme Court announces whether it will take up the appeal. If it does, it will be extended until it provides a final decision on the issue.
