Man Arrested After Prompting High Speed Chase With Infant In The Vehicle

The suspect sideswiped one deputy’s vehicle, backed into another one and tried to push another one out of the way as he tried to escape.

One man has been arrested after prompting a police pursuit with an infant in the vehicle.

Alex Henry was driving a pickup truck pulling a car hauler when deputies in Lee County attempted to pull him over. He failed to stop which led to a pursuit that resulted in Darlington County deputies getting involved as he crossed county lines.

The chase ended on the Lamar Highway near Highway 52.

The suspect has been charged with child endangerment and three counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature for allegedly hitting the three sheriff’s office vehicles.
