Two Georgetown County Detention Center Correctional Officers Arrested

Contraband was first discovered in the facility on December 7th. Jail command staff was notified and a shakedown of a cell-block revealed even more contraband.

Two correctional officers of the Georgetown County Detention Center have been arrested.

Contraband was first discovered in the facility on December 7th. Jail command staff was notified and a shakedown of a cell-block revealed even more contraband.

The sheriff’s office said jail staff asked questions over the next week, leading to the allegations and arrests of two officers.

21-year-old Tyland Timmons and 29-year-old Rieshia Rivera have each been charged with possession or furnishing contraband, criminal conspiracy and public official misconduct in office.

Both have since been released and are awaiting trial.
