Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been suspended from the NBA indefinitely.
The 33-year-old was thrown out of the game during his team’s 119 to 116 defeat against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. While he was being guarded during the third quarter, Green spun around and struck Jusuf Nurkić in the face with his right arm knocking him to the ground.
The officials reviewed the incident and deemed it a flagrant 2 foul, which results in an automatic ejection from the game.
This was Green’s third ejection of the season. He took time to publicly apologize claiming he truly did not mean to hit Nurkić, he was just trying to get away. Even still, the NBA stated that it took into account Green’s repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts when making the suspension decision.
