Meta Rolls Out New Feature To Protect User’s Messages
The new feature would keep users private messages from being exposed by scrambling their content to everyone but the intended senders and recipients.
Meta plans to roll out a new feature that would boost security and privacy for users of Facebook and Messenger apps.
For several years, Meta has been public about its plans to make encrypted messages the default mode for its messaging platforms.
The new feature would keep users private messages from being exposed by scrambling their content to everyone but the intended senders and recipients.
Under the new default settings, not even Meta will be able to see what users are sending to one another. The only way a message could potentially be read by others, is if a participant in a conversation reports a message to Meta.
The tech giant started rolling out the new feature earlier this week.
