Man Arrested For Alleged Act Of Arson

Firefighters told deputies that they had reason to believe the fire had been set intentionally.

A man was arrested for allegedly starting a fire.

On Saturday, Dillon County sheriff’s deputies responded to a structure fire in the Hamer Community.

When they arrived, authorities were informed that a fire at a mobile home had been put out by Dillon County Fire Station 4.

Firefighters told deputies that they had reason to believe the fire had been set intentionally.

An investigation led to the arrest of Matthew Scarbourgh Jr. who has been charged with second degree arson and unlawful communication. He is being held at the Dillon County Detention Center.
