Panera Bread Faces Another Lawsuit Blaming Beverage For Wrongful Death

46-year-old Dennis Brown allegedly drank three Charged Lemonades before suffering a fatal cardiac arrest.

Panera Bread is facing yet another lawsuit involving allegations of wrongful death.

The fast food chain has advertised its Charged Lemonade as “Plant-based and clean with as much caffeine as their Dark Roast Coffee.” However, the lawsuit alleges that a large size of the beverage is 30-ounces and equals to 390 milligrams of caffeine, which is much more than any size of Panera’s Dark Roast Coffee.

The FDA says healthy adults can safely consume 400 milligrams of caffeine a day.

46-year-old Dennis Brown allegedly drank three Charged Lemonades before suffering a fatal cardiac arrest. His family filed the lawsuit against Panera arguing the drink is dangerous and the company failed to warn consumers appropriately of its ingredients.

This is the second lawsuit Panera has been hit with after a woman with a heart condition died after drinking the Charged Lemonade last year.

Panera stands firmly by the safety of their product.
