N.C. Police Prevented A Possible Mass Shooting Situation
Boone police say the man was asked to leave the bar which prompted him to grab a tactical vest, a shotgun, handgun, and ammunition before heading back.
North Carolina police say they prevented a possible mass shooting.
On Tuesday, 59-year-old Peter Gabaree was arrested outside of the Boone Saloon, a popular bar on West King Street in Boone.
Officers responded to the area shortly after midnight after Gabaree was spotted carrying a firearm outside of the establishment.
Boone police say the man was asked to leave the bar which prompted him to grab a tactical vest, a shotgun, handgun, and ammunition before heading back.
Officers arrived at the scene and were able to detain him. He is charged with going armed to the terror of the public and resisting arrest.
Smith is being held at the Watauga County jail on a $10,000 bond.
