Lumberton Police Open An Investigation After 3-Year-Old Was Shot

The shooting occurred around 7:20p.m. in the child's home at the Holly Ridge Apartment Complex.

Lumberton police have opened an investigation after discovering a 3-year-old had been shot.

On Tuesday, police responded to UNC Health Southeastern on reports of a child with a gunshot wound to the hand.

Upon arrival, police were informed the shooting occurred around 7:20p.m. in the child’s home at the Holly Ridge Apartment Complex.

The child was transported to another hospital for treatment for her injuries.
