N.C. Fire Crews Are Battling A Wildfire

The flames have now spread across 431 acres and remains 15% contained.

Wednesday marks the sixth day of fighting a large wildfire in North Carolina.

The blaze first broke out on Friday along Poplar Drive in Henderson County. The flames have now spread across 431 acres and remains 15% contained.

Firefighters are working to improve and reinforce existing control lines around the fire. Two drop tanks for water have been placed in critical areas to assist in putting it out.

So far, two homes have been lost while another sustained damage, and two firefighters have sustained minor injuries as a result of the fire.

The cause of the flames remains under investigation. Personnel with the N.C. Forest Service, N.C. Emergency Management, and many more are responding to the incident.
