Several Grand Strand Law Enforcement and Healthcare agencies are teaming up to host an event in honor of ‘National Prescription Drug Take Back Day’.
Drug takeback events aim to give people the opportunity to properly dispose of unused, old or expired prescription medication that may accumulate in their homes. Improperly disposing of prescription drugs can have severe consequences, which is why any and everyone is encouraged to bring their medications to the event.
In Horry County, Grand Strand Medical Center will host its ‘Crush The Crisis’ takeback event which runs from 10a.m.-2p.m. on Saturday.
Also on Saturday, the Georgetown County Department of Public Services is sponsoring a household hazardous waste collection & paper shredding event at Sampit Elementary School from 9a.m.-noon.
Anyone can bring their medications to either event to be properly handled.
