16-Year-Old Student Dies After Shooting On Darlington School Property
Police are trying to identify the occupants of a silver 2013 or 2017 Honda Accord with a paper license plate. The vehicle could have a bullet hole in the roof.
A 16-year-old student died Tuesday afternoon after being involved in a shooting incident.
Shortly before 1p.m. police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 100 Magnolia Street which is the address for the Darlington-Lee Adult Education campus in Darlington County. Upon arrival they found the victim who was transported to the McLeod Medical Center in Florence where they later died.
There appeared to be no threat to the community but all buildings and schools in the Darlington area were placed in a secure status out of caution. When it was lifted later, an abundance of law enforcement officers were present to help with school dismissal.
