Authorities Identify The Body Found In Florence County

83-year-old Thurston McCutchen was reported missing after he went out onto the Lynches River to fish but never returned.

A body found near a Pee Dee area river has been identified by Florence County authorities.

83-year-old Thurston McCutchen was reported missing after he went out onto the Lynches River to fish but never returned.

The S.C. Department of Natural Resources searched for him at his last known location.

McCutchen’s body was found on Wednesday night near a boat landing.

MUSC will now conduct an autopsy and an investigation is currently underway.
