Hyundai And Kia Recall Vehicles Due To Risk Of Fire
Owners are urged to park outside and away from structures. The vehicles can be taken to dealerships to have a fuse in the module replaced.
A recall has been placed on nearly 3.3 million Hyundai and Kia cars and SUVs.
The recall was issued due to the risk of the vehicles suddenly catching fire. The vehicles could develop an internal fluid leak in the antilock brake module which could result in a short circuit leading to overheating and possibly fire, whether they are being driven or not.
The recall covers 1.64 million Hyundai models including 2012-2015 Hyundai Accents, 2011-2015 Elantras and 2011-2015 Genesis coupes. Many other models from the 2010-2017 model years are also included.
About 1.73 million Kia vehicles are also involved in the recall including 2011-2014 Sorentos and 2011-2013 Souls among a number of other models.
Owners are urged to park outside and away from structures. The vehicles can be taken to dealerships to have a fuse in the module replaced.
