Government Relaunches Free COVID-19 Tests For U.S. Households
This is the first time the tests are available since the program was suspended in May after the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency was terminated.
The U.S. government relaunched a program to provide free COVID-19 home tests to Americans.
U.S. households can order four free tests from covid.gov once again. The tests that are set to be sent out, are intended for use through the end of this year and will include instructions on how to verify extended expiration dates.
The U.S. government has shipped over 755 million free COVID-tests to people who requested them. This is the first time the tests are available since the program was suspended in May after the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency was terminated.
The relaunching of the COVID test orders comes amid a recent spike in cases across the U.S..
